2023 - 2026 yılları arasında Bodrum Belediyesi Basın Yayın ve Halkla İlişkiler Müdürü olarak görev yapan Selçuk Şimşek geçtiğimiz günlerde MBB Başkanı Ahmet Aras tarfından Muğla Büyükşehir Belediyesi Basın Yayın ve Halkla İlişkiler Daire Başkanlığı görevine getirilmişti.
Bu transfer sonrası boşalan Bodrum Belediyesi Basın Yayın ve Halkla İlişkiler Müdürlüğü görevine vekaleten Çağrı Şanlı getirildi. Bodrum Belediyesi'nde 657 sayılı Devlet Memurları Kanununa tabi Özel Kalem Müdür vekili olarak görev yapan Şanlı 13 Mart 2026 itibariyle ikinci bir görevi daha üstlenmiş oldu.

Two Arrests in Case of Beating That Caused Fainting

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, footage allegedly recorded on a mobile phone in a children's park near Sabancı Park in Turgutreis neighborhood of Bodrum district shows a 15-16 year old child beating another child of similar age. The footage shows the beaten child collapsing to the ground unconscious after a short time. An investigation was launched following the release of the video.
The footage, allegedly recorded with a mobile phone in the children's park next to Turgutreis Hayırlı Sabancı Anatolian High School on January 7, 2026, shows one child beating another, while those recording can be heard shouting "continue, continue." The child, staggering from the punches and kicks, collapses unconscious on the road in front of the park.
Following the release of the footage on social media, it was learned that the Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation. It was stated that 2 people were detained as part of the investigation.
The statement from the Bodrum District Governorship is as follows:
"Following the news and images published in various local press, media and social media outlets on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, regarding allegations that a child was bullied and beaten in Bodrum district of Muğla province, investigations revealed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The parties were identified on the same day, a judicial investigation was initiated, and the investigation process is ongoing."
