TFF 2022 - 2023 sezonu Süper Lig maçları İstanbulspor - Trabzonspor maçıyla başladı. Trabzonspor maçı 0-2 galip tamamladı. Spor Toto Süper Lig'de yeni sezonun açılış maçında İstanbulspor ile Trabzonspor karşı karşıya geldi. Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu'nda oynanan mücadeleyi konuk ekip Trabzonspor 2-0'lık skorla kazandı. Son şampiyonu öne geçiren golü 16. dakikada Andreas Cornelius kaydetti. Danimarkalı oyuncu ayrıca yeni sezonun ilk golünü kaydetmiş oldu. Maçın skorunu belirleyen golü ise 86. dakikada Stefano Denswil attı.
