Gümüşlük Çayıraltı Halk Plajı olarak kullanılan alana özel bir işletmenin şezlong koymasıyla başlayan eylemler sürüyor. Gümüşlük Forumu da açıklama yayınladı.

Gümüşlük Rehberi'nin "ilk olarak" ardı ardına haber yaptığı dere aracılığıyla plaja kanalizasyon atığı bırakıldığı, Mavi Bayrağın kaldırıldığı, Çayıraltı Halk Plajı'nın durumu haberleri yıllar sonra diğer yerel haber sitelerinin de yayınlamasıyla Bodrum genelinde gündeme gelmeye başladı.

Hem denize atık karıştığı, hem özel laboratuarlar aracılığıyla elde edilen sonuçlara göre koli basili oranının normal değerlerin çok üstüne çıktığı iddiaları hem de Gümüşlük Çayıraltı Halk Plajı olarak kullanılan alana özel bir işletmenin şezlong koymasıyla başlayan eylemler sürüyor. Gümüşlük Forumu da tüm bu konuları içeren gündem hakkında açıklama yayınladı.

Aktivist ve Gümüşlük Forumu paydaşlarından olan Meral Güneş, "Gümüşlük Forumu" imzalı açıklamayı sosyal medya hesaplarından yayınladı. İşte o açıklama;

"Merhaba,

Bodrum Yarımadası, özelinde Gümüşlük Mahallesi, antik bir kente ev sahipliği yapması itibariyle emsalleri arasında öne çıkan, sahip olduğu tarih hazinesi ve doğal güzellikleriyle de korunma ve kollanmayı fazlasıyla hak eden bir coğrafyaya sahiptir. Bu haliyle Gümüşlük gerek içinde yaşayanları gerekse gelen konukları tarafından hemen fark edilmekte, göze çarpan olumsuzlukları süratle ortaya konarak ilgili makamlardan giderilmesi talep edilmektedir.

Tüm bu olumlu yanlarına rağmen Gümüşlük de ülkenin konjonktürel koşullarından etkilenmekte, antik kent barındıran toprakları plansızca hırpalanırken, denizi de bu bozulmadan payını almaktadır.

Gümüşlük’ün Anayasa ve Kıyı Kanunu ile koruma altına alınmış ve halkın özgür kullanımına sunulmuş sahilleri özel işletmeler tarafından işgal edilmiştir, halâ da işgal edilmektedir. Bu konuda daha da ileri gidilmiş, yıllardır halkın ücretsiz kullanımına tahsis edilen, içinde duşu, soyunma odası, tuvaleti, can kurtaranı ve mavi bayrağı olan 'Çayıraltı Halk Plajı' önce bu tesis ve hizmetlerden mahrum bırakılmış, bir ay önce de iyice daraltılarak kalan kısmı Bodrum Belediye Başkanlığı tarafından özel bir işletmeye tahsis edilmiştir. Bu durumda, sahillerden ve denizden ücretsiz ve özgürce yararlanmak isteyen halk ve tatil için gelen konuklar daracık bir alana sıkışmak zorunda bırakılmışlardır. Halk oylarıyla göreve getirilen, halkın vergilerinden maaş ödenerek halkın ihtiyaçlarına yanıt vermesi beklenen belediye başkanlığı, bu tasarrufun kendi onayıyla yapıldığını da basın toplantısında kendi ağzıyla açıklamıştır.

Durum duyarlı Gümüşlük halkı ve çevre STK’lar nezdinde derhal protesto edilmiş, işgal edilen halk plajında gösteri ve eylemler icra edilmiş, yaklaşık iki yüz kişinin altını imzaladığı dilekçe, hukuksuzluğun düzeltilerek plajın derhal halka iadesi için Belediye Başkanlığı ve Kaymakamlık makamına sunulmuştur. Özel bir işletmeye sahil kesimini 'kendisinin tahsis ettiğini' basın mensuplarına açıklayan yerel yönetim cevabi yazısında bu kez sahili işletmelere 'tahsis etme yetkisinin olmadığını' beyan edebilmiştir.

Öte yandan, içinde insan dışkısı olduğunun ortaya çıktığı 2022 yılı bahar aylarından bugüne kadar, Gümüşlük halkı tarafından yaptırılan sayısız su tahlilleriyle kirliliği kanıtlanan, bu durumu başta Bodrum Kaymakamlığı, Bodrum Belediye Başkanlığı, Bodrum Belediyesi Yapı Denetim Müdürlüğü, Zabıta Müdürlüğü, İlçe Sağlık Müdürlüğü ve Muski olmak üzere kamu kurum ve kuruluşlarına çeşitli zamanlarda iletilen halk plajı yakınlarındaki Demirci Deresi, 2025 yılı Haziran ayı itibariyle hala enfeksiyon üretmeye, denize lağım suyu taşımaya devam etmektedir.

Bugüne kadar yapılan hiçbir yazışma, görüşme, girişim sonuç vermemiş, bu derenin denize lağım suyu taşımasını engelleyecek bir otorite bulunamamıştır. Her yıl binlerce yerli yabancı konuğa ev sahipliği yapan Bodrum ilçesinde, bu derenin insan ve toplum sağlığını tehdit etmesini önleyecek makam ne yazık ki yoktur. Bu konuda başvuru yapılan kamu kurum ve kuruluşlar topu birbirine atmakta, kimse sorumluluk almak istememekte, deyim yerindeyse elini taşın altına sokmamaktadır.

Her yıl sezon başında sahillerde dalgıçlarla deniz dibi temizliği yaparak deniz kirliliği için önlem almaya çalışan yerel yönetim, Gümüşlük koyuna zehir saçan küçücük bir derenin kirliliğine bir türlü önlem alamamaktadır. Yere sigara izmariti atarak çevreyi kirleten vatandaşa ceza yazan yerel yönetim, o dereyi kirletenlere ceza yazmak şöyle dursun, sorumlularını bile bulamamaktadır.

Bu durum karşısında da kayıtsız kalamayan çevre STK’lar kendi imkânlarıyla çözüm üretmeyi denemişler, yerel yönetim dahil iletişimde oldukları kamu kurum ve kuruluşlarıyla temasa geçerek en azından o bölgedeki arıtma tesisiyle alakalı bir çözüm üretmeye çalışmışlar, ancak bu çabaları da maalesef karşılık bulmamıştır.

Gelinen noktada, kıyılar ve denizimizin koyun her iki tarafından denize karışan lağım sularıyla kirletilmesi, dahası zehirlenmesi, sahillerimizin yasadışı bir biçimde işgal edilmesi, Gümüşlük yaşayanları ve STK’lar olarak bölgenin incisi Gümüşlük sahillerini ve değerlerini korumadaki kararlılığımızı bir kat daha arttırmaktadır. Bu konularda yasal haklarımız da dahil olmak üzere, her türlü vatandaşlık hakkımızı kullanmaktan da kaçınmayacağımızı kamuoyuna saygıyla beyan ederiz.

Gümüşlük Forum makes a statement about the "beach"

The protests that started with a private business placing sunbeds in the area used as the Gümüşlük Çayıraltı Public Beach continue. Gümüşlük Forum has also released a statement.

The news that the Gümüşlük Guide "first" reported one after another about sewage waste being dumped into the beach through the creek, the Blue Flag being removed, and the state of Çayıraltı Public Beach started to become a trending topic throughout Bodrum after years when other local news sites also published them.

The claims that waste was mixed into the sea, that the rate of E. coli bacillus was much higher than normal according to the results obtained through private laboratories, and the protests that started with a private business placing sunbeds in the area used as the Gümüşlük Çayıraltı Public Beach continue. Gümüşlük Forum has also released a statement about the agenda that includes all these issues.

"Hello,

Bodrum Peninsula, especially Gümüşlük Neighborhood, stands out among its peers as it hosts an ancient city, and has a geography that deserves to be protected and protected with its historical treasure and natural beauties. In this state, Gümüşlük is immediately noticed by both its residents and its visitors, and its notable negativities are quickly revealed and requested to be eliminated from the relevant authorities.

Despite all these positive aspects, Gümüşlük is also affected by the conjuncture conditions of the country, while its lands hosting ancient cities are being unplannedly battered, its sea also receives its share of this deterioration.

The beaches of Gümüşlük, which are protected by the Constitution and Coastal Law and offered to the free use of the public, have been occupied by private enterprises and are still being occupied. This issue has been taken even further, and the 'Çayıraltı Public Beach', which has been allocated for the free use of the public for years, has a shower, changing room, toilet, lifeguard and blue flag, was first deprived of these facilities and services, and a month ago it was narrowed down and the remaining part It has been allocated to a private enterprise by the Bodrum Municipality. In this case, the public who wants to benefit from the beaches and the sea for free and freely and the guests who come for vacation have been forced to squeeze into a narrow area. The mayor, who was elected by the public vote and is expected to respond to the needs of the public by paying salaries from the public's taxes, also announced in his own words at the press conference that this decision was made with his approval.

The situation was immediately protested by the sensitive people of Gümüşlük and environmental NGOs, demonstrations and actions were held on the occupied public beach, and a petition signed by approximately two hundred people was submitted to the Municipality and District Governor's Office for the unlawfulness to be corrected and the beach to be returned to the public immediately. The local administration, which explained to the press members that it 'allocated' the coastal area to a private enterprise, was able to declare in its response that it 'does not have the authority to allocate' the beach to enterprises.

On the other hand, since the spring of 2022, when it was revealed that there was human feces in it, the pollution has been proven by numerous water analyses carried out by the people of Gümüşlük, and this situation has been proven, especially in Bodrum. The Demirci Creek near the public beach, which was reported to the District Governor's Office, Bodrum Municipality, Bodrum Municipality Building Inspection Directorate, Police Department, District Health Directorate and Muski at various times, continues to produce infections and carry sewage to the sea as of June 2025.

No correspondence, meeting or initiative has yielded results to date, and no authority has been found to prevent this creek from carrying sewage to the sea. In Bodrum district, which hosts thousands of local and foreign guests every year, unfortunately, there is no authority to prevent this creek from threatening human and public health. Public institutions and organizations that have been applied to on this issue pass the buck to each other, no one wants to take responsibility, and, so to speak, does not take responsibility.

The local government, which tries to take precautions against sea pollution by cleaning the seabed with divers on the beaches at the beginning of the season every year, cannot take any precautions against the pollution of a small creek that spreads poison to Gümüşlük Bay. The local government, which fines a citizen who pollutes the environment by throwing cigarette butts on the ground, let alone penalizing those who pollute the stream, they cannot even find those responsible.

Environmental NGOs, who could not remain indifferent to this situation, tried to find a solution with their own means, contacted public institutions and organizations they were in contact with, including the local government, and tried to find a solution at least regarding the treatment plant in that region, but unfortunately these efforts did not find a response.

At this point, the pollution and even poisoning of our coasts and sea by sewage water flowing into the sea from both sides of the bay, the illegal The occupation of Gümüşlük in such a way increases our determination as Gümüşlük residents and NGOs to protect the pearl of the region, Gümüşlük coast and its values. We respectfully declare to the public that we will not refrain from using all our citizenship rights, including our legal rights, in these matters.
